I want to be like Mayweather - Asamoah Gyan

Ghana attacker Asamoah Gyan has revealed his desire to follow the steps of renowned American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr.
 
Mayweather who remains one of the celebrated boxers is regarded as one of the richest sportsmen in the World.

The American boxer was able to chalk several laurels having retired undefeated in 49 fights, equaling the record of former American boxer Rocky Marciano.

Gyan , currently Africa’s highest paid footballer and the sixth highest paid footballer in the World has also chalked some successes winning the Asian footballer of the year on two occasions.

He has also equaled the record set by former Cameroonian international Roga Milla as the highest scoring African player at the World Cup.

The Black Stars captain is anticipating on following the footsteps of Mayweather as one of the successful sportsmen in the World.

"It is straight away [Floyd] Mayweather," Gyan told Viasat1.

"He is my role model. He is not a failure, very rich, he always wants to win and that has made him successful. That is how i am. I never like defeat and always want to successful in life.

The Ghanaian international is yet to make it into the top 100 Sportsmen in the World.

Mayweather is ranked number one in the World with a whooping $300 million, ranked above the likes Tiger Woods, LeBron James etc.
