Nyantakyi confirms abrogated deal with FCPB, GFA in search of new sponsor

First Capital plus Bank have terminated its contract with the Ghana Football Association as headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League. FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi has confirmed.

First Capital plus Bank temporarily abrogated its contract with the Ghana Football Association to restructure their firm.

The Bank as part of its streamline changed their name from First Capital plus Bank to Capital Bank.

The Bank was earlier reported to be considering terminating its deal with the Nation’s football governing body as headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League.

Nyantakyi has however confirmed his outfit is in search of a new sponsor after First Capital plus Bank canceled the deal.

“We don’t have a sponsor now so we are looking for a new sponsor,” GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi confirmed.

“We hope to secure sponsorship by the time the league starts.”

First Capital plus Bank (Capital Bank) signed a five year sponsorship agreement with the Ghana Football Association worth $US10million.

The 2015/16 Ghana Premier League is expected to kick start later next month.
