Ghana football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi has quashed reports of an alleged misunderstanding between the Association and the Sports Ministry.
Reports have been speculating in the media that the two parties have not been in good terms following recent decisions by the Ministry.
The Sports Ministry according to report have refused to take charge of bonuses of the Black Stars team.
Hon Dr.Mustpaha Ahmed and his charges have been alleged to have directed the Ghana Football Association to fix their own bills concerning the Black Stars team, a decision which has led to an alleged rift between the two parties, thus the Sports Ministry and the GFA.
The Black Stars team are still owed bonuses after progressing to the Group stages of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Nyantakyi speaking with the media during an end of year soiree at the GFA secretariat in Accra denied having any problem with the Sports Ministry.
“As far as I know and officially we have no problems with the Ministry of Sports, there may have been advent comments by officials of the ministry in the public,” he told the media.
“The most regrettable aspect is that we have not been confronted with any of those things and so we treat them as rumors because if the Minister or his deputy or an official of the sports ministry have issues with the GFA he will write to the GFA or call the GFA to a meeting.
“But if you resort to the media and make pronouncement with contacting the GFA or detrimental or adversarial to the work of the GFA we can decide to ignore you.
“Is not a comment that is worth responding to so officially I can say that we have no problem with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and I have never of no body from the GFA has ever complained of having a problem with the ministry of youth and sports.
“If they have a problem with us they should lay squarely on the table openly for us to confront it maybe is based on a misconception or misunderstanding of certain issues.”
“As far as am concern we have not done anything, GFA has been open and we have done our things to the best of our ability and so if anybody has a problem with us come out openly and put out the problem and we will confront it.”
The Ghana Football Association are expected to pay all outstanding bonuses to the Black Stars team before their Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique in march this year.
