President John Dramani Mahama has announced changes in the top hierarchy of the Ghana Armed Forces.
A statement from the Office of the President said AVM Samson Michael-Oje replaces Vice Admiral Matthew Quarshie as the Chief of Defence Staff and Vice Admiral Quarshie has been appointed as an Ambassador Designate.

The other appointments are as follows: Air Commodore Maxwell Mantsebi-Tei Nagai, Chief of Air Staff; Commodore Peter Kofi Faido, Chief of Naval Staff; and Brigadier General Sampson Kudjo Adeti, Chief of Staff at the General Headquarters:

The statement said the Chief of Army Staff, however, remains Major General Richard Kwame Opoku Adusei.
