Blows In NDC Over Xmas Cash [PHOTO]

CONFUSION HAS hit the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region following a gift that was given to the party’s executives during the Yuletide.

Each executive member reportedly pocketed GH¢2,200 to mark the Christmas festivity in a grand style.

The confusion allegedly stemmed from the decision of the leadership of the political party in the region to preclude a prominent female member from benefiting from the gift.

Gloria Huze, who is the NDC parliamentary candidate for Ejisu and deputy women organizer in the Ashanti Region, was supposed to have benefitted from the cash but she was shockingly sidelined.

Party insiders disclosed to DAILY GUIDE that the regional chairman, Yaw Obimpeh, purportedly ordered that Gloria Huze should not be given the GH¢2,200.

He reportedly took that action because he argued that Gloria Huze had been suspended as the NDC deputy women organizer.

This decision is said to have angered Gloria, who commands a lot of respect in the party, especially at Ejisu/Juaben.

Speaking on radio, Gloria, who sounded angry over the harsh treatment meted out to her by her own party, stated that she hadn’t received any letter about her supposed suspension from the party.

She argued that as an executive member of the party in the region, ideally she should have received her share of the booty, noting that it is wrong for any party member to sideline her.

One Musah, said to be a leading party member at Ejisu and ardent fan of Gloria, said on Nhyira FM that so far as they were concerned, Gloria Huze was still the deputy women organizer in the region.

He confirmed that Huze had not received any letter from the party’s leadership regarding her supposed suspension, indicating that she (Gloria) ought to have received her share of the gift.

Musah said any attempt by the party’s leadership to harshly treat Gloria Huze would result in dire consequences for the NDC, warning that he and his group would not campaign for the party if Gloria was discriminated against.

Isham, deputy organizer in the Ashanti Region who was called into the programme, said there was no need for the NDC to wash its dirty linen in public, assuring that the Gloria Huze issue would be resolved amicably.
