Airport Evacuated After Explosive Substance Found On Baggage

An Airport has been evacuated after traces of an explosive substance were found on a piece of luggage.

The departure hall of a Swedish airport has been cleared and a bomb squad sent in to investigate.

A police spokesperson said: “The baggage and departure halls were evacuated, which has affected departing flights but not arrivals.”

He added: “The bag in question belongs to an elderly lady and she is cooperating with us … She says she doesn’t know how the powder got on her bag,”

Stockholm’s Skavsta Airport, located approximately 60 miles from Sweden’s capital city, is the fifth largest in the country and handles 2.5 million passengers a year.
