NPP Must Spend Time and Money In Rural Ghana, If - Dr. Bossman Asare

Head of the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana (UG), has offered a free advice to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) on how to win election 2016.

Dr. Bossman Asare recommended that the NPP must focused their attention in rural Ghana rather than paying much attention in some regional capitals to win the election.

He however commended the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for adopting such strategy and charge the NPP to emulate or “they should forget winning election 2016”.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show Ghana Montie Dr. Bossman Asare opined that, “Even in Ashanti Region were the NPP gets their massive votes, in recent time the margin in decreasing.

The NPP have to do a lot of work in the rural areas. The job of the NPP is to reduce the votes of the NDC in some rural areas to increase their. If they can do that across all the rural areas, they will gain some percentage points,” the SEnior Lecturer said.

Adding that – “I expect NPP as a party to spend most of the time and money in rural Ghana. You don’t need a big rally in Accra, Kumasi, and some capitals. You don’t need that. If they can do well in rural Ghana, I don’t see why they [NPP] can’t win election 2016”.
