Govt Releases Funds For Feeding Programme

Caterers operating under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) will be smiling to the banks because the government has released more than GH¢100 million to settle their arrears for the third and fourth quarters of last year.

The Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Mr Kojo Fynn, who disclosed this to the Daily Graphic, indicated that GH¢48.7 million was paid for the third quarter, while GH¢51. 5 million was paid for the fourth.

"We have, therefore, cleared all outstanding arrears for 2015 to the GSFP," he stated.
The GSFP is a project that provides food for children in some selected lower primary schools in the country. It is run by the GSFP Secretariat, in partnership with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

MPs, disability funds
Additionally, the DACF has paid GH¢38 million into the Members of Parliament (MPs) Development Fund to clear arrears for both the third and fourth quarters of last year.

Similarly, GH¢6 million has also been paid into the Disability Fund for onward disbursement to people living with disabilities.
