Fuel price hikes Cause Confusion In Tamale

The upward adjustment of petroleum product prices on Monday caused confusion between some motorists and pumping attendants in Tamale.

A gallon of petrol is now GH15.59 pesewas calculated at 3.465 liters and a gallon of diesel is GH14.76 pesewas pegged at 3.281 liters.

Whiles some fuel stations in Tamale are selling a gallon of petrol for Gh15.59 pesewas others sold it at 16.00.

This situation angered some motorists who verbally and physically assaulted pumping attendants over the prices differentials.

A taxi cab driver at a Total filling station could not understand why GH50 petrol recorded 14.430 liters.

He felt cheated by the pumping attendant who fell short of words to convince the Taxi cab driver that it was in line with the new prices.

Meanwhile, some petroleum consumers have accused government of insensitivity. They argued that the new prices did not commensurate with the prices of crude oil at the world market.

They therefore called for reduction as means of reducing the burden. Meanwhile, operators of tricycles known as Motor King and yellow-yellow have served notice of increasing their fares.
