The Revenant led the way Thursday morning and scored 12 nominations for this year's Oscars, with nods in the Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director categories.
The nominations for the 88th Academy Awards were revealed on in Los Angeles, and cheers were heard throughout the theatre as Leonardo DiCaprio was revealed to have received a Best Actor nod.
The 41-year-old Hollywood has previously been nominated for five Academy Awards and has never won, but he is hotly-tipped to finally win this year.
