The Eastern Regional Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) Coordinator, Superintendent of Police, Eunice Annor, has commended the Youth Bridge

Foundation (YBF) for its contribution towards the reduction in juvenile crime in the New Juaben municipality.

She said the activities of YBF and other NGOs, which focus on child rights, had helped to reduce juvenile crime in the municipality and noted that less criminal incidents were recorded during the 2015 Yuletide, compared to 2014.
Supt Annor made the commendation in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Koforidua, to ascertain the impact of YBF, in a programme dubbed: "Young people and the Police" in the municipality.

The programme is part of a project dubbed: “Securing the future of young people in Ghana through improved Juvenile Justice Administration," and it is being funded by the Open Society Initiative for West Africa.

She stressed the need for the institution of juvenile clubs in the basic schools and urged NGOs to spread the education to other schools in the municipality and region to benefit majority of the youth.

Supt Annor cited areas such as Akwatia, Oda, Yilo and Manya Krobo, Nsawam, Begoro and Donkorkrom as places with high juvenile crime rates and appealed to NGOs to extend their programmes there.
