Police Kill Suspect Robber At Banda Nkwanta

An exchange of gunfire between three suspected armed robbers and a police patrol team Thursday dawn at Banda Nkwanta on the Bole-Bamboi road led to the death of one of the robbers.

The robbers, said to be Fulani herdsmen were said to have stopped a Kumasi-Wa bound Benz Bus and robbed the passengers in the Northern region.
While in the process of the robbery, a police patrol team arrived at the scene after a distress call had been placed to them.

The robbers on seeing the police, were said to have shot at them and the police responded, according to the Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mr. Ebenezer Tetteh.

This led to the death of one of the robbers and the two managed to escape through the bushes.

Mr Tetteh told Graphic Online that the remains of the deceased has since been deposited at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital morgue in the Brong Ahafo Region.

He said on Sunday January 17, 2016 a similar incident happened on the same road in which the robbers attacked a Kumasi-Wa bound passenger bus but could not rob the passengers but rather shot and injured a police man on board.

ASP Teteeh said the policeman was responding to treatment at the Wenchi Hospital.
