2nd Lady Praised For Her Passion In Health & Education

Awulae Gyamfi Kwame 11 Paramount Chief of the Nsein Traditional Area has lauded the efforts of the Second Lady, Matilda Amissah Arthur for her passion in social work in the country, especially her commitment to promote the rights of children and showing love to the less privileged and vulnerable in society .In the area of education and health to the poor and marginalized.

 He made the statement on Friday when the Wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur joined the chiefs and people of  Onzaeyeye in the Nzema East District in the Western Region to commission the newly built Chip Compound financed  by Ghana Rubber Estates Limited as a cooperate social responsibility to the people of  the area.

 He also took the opportunity to give a brief history of the area and called for urgent attention from government to help in the construction of roads and extension of electricity to the Onzaeyeye community and its environs to compliment other project in the community. 

The Second Lady donated Ten Laptops, each and ten desktop computers and variety of books for some three schools in the area. The beneficiaries’ schools were Dome Abra M/A primary, Avrabo Primary and JSS and Awulai Gyamfi Kwame Primary and JSS all in the Nzema East District of the Western Region.

Mrs. Amissah-Arthur also donated quantity of medical equipment’s a valued at millions of cedis to the Onzaeyeye Chip Compound.  She also called on school children in the area to take their lessons serious in order to become future leaders, because Knowledge is Power.

Mrs. Matilda Amissah Arthur said as part of her effort to help take care of the needs of people in hospitals, in her owns small was donating by adding to what government has being doing over the years, so decided to donate the medical equipment and supplies to deprived health facilities as her widows mite.

She said she was happy to make the presentation towards helping improving the health educational status of the people in the area and also advised the teachers and health workers to continue to dedicate and work hard for the people of the area.

Other Dignitaries who graced the occasion were the Omanhene of the Esikado traditional area Nana Kwabena Nketia  11, who was the chairman for the occasion, the deputy Western Regional Minister Honourable Ekow Gyan, the MP for the area and a host of dignitaries.
