Konadus JM Hate Peerless

If criticizing President John Dramani Mahama was the basis for electing the next president in the November 7 presidential election, the failed 2012 flagbearer of the National Democratic Party, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings would have beaten her colleague opposition leaders to emerge victorious in the impending elections.

After suffering a humiliating defeat in the 2011 flag bearer contest of the National Democratic Congress which led to her exit from the ruling party, the former first lady has been on warpath with the governing party, particularly its Presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.

As if the election of President Mahama after the painful demise of the late President John Atta Mills has created opportunity for Nana Konadu to “pay back” the excruciating defeat she suffered in the hands of the President’s late boss and mentor, Atta Mills, the wife of the NDC founder has not miss an opportunity to prove her revulsion for the Northern born communication-expert-turned-President.

After unsuccessfully working with the opposition New Patriotic Party to ensure President Mahama and the NDC lost the last presidential election in 2012, the NDP founder, who is alleged to be fighting her daughter, Dr Zanetor for opting to contest the 2016 parliamentary election on the ticket of the governing party, has now assumed the unofficial position of chief critic of the Mahama administration.

She has on countless occasions taken the Mahama government to the cleaners, describing it as filthy corrupt and the worse thing to have ever happened to Ghana. Nana Konadu’s opposition to the party that offered her the opportunity to still pride herself as onetime first lady, many say, surpasses the opposition by the main opposition party, the NPP.

With the raging controversy surrounding government’s decision to host two former inmates of Guatanamo Bay about ending, the NDP leader, who said she will contest the 2016 presidential polls but, has in recent times been spotted in the company of her new found friend and flag bearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo, has resurrected it by launching another blistering attack on President Mahama.

In her bid to revive discussions on the continued stay in Ghana of the two former Guatanamo detainees and sustain it in order to force Ghanaians into believing government was indeed, paid money to host them, Nana Konadu took to facebook and wrote, “you (apparently referring to President Mahama) should never sacrifice your conscience and safety for money,” subtly suggesting that the NDC government indeed collected money from the USA Government to host the two ex-detainees.

Describing Mahama and the government’s decision to house the two former detainees as lacking “common sense”, she added “They say we should not call them terrorists because no court found them guilty. I am busy looking for the courts that tried Osama Bin Laden and Al-Baghdadi, the ISIS leader before they were classified as terrorists,” Mrs. Rawlings queried in a move to mock the decision by the President.”

“Saying a prayer for the innocent people murdered next door in Burkina Faso by the foot soldiers of Osama Bin Laden” is a vivid reminder that Al-Qaeda operatives should never be in a safe haven in Ghana, adding that humanity must show no compassion for terrorism,” Nana Konadu added.

As usual of the Mrs Rawlings, she did not made her point without reminding the President that he and his party, the NDC will lose the November elections even without a new voter register, saying “No new voter register they say. But in a progressive country change is constant; change is inevitable
