Tema Municipal Chief Executive visits first day in school pupils

Mr Robert Kempes Papa Nii Ofosuware, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), on Tuesday visited some rural schools in the Metropolis, to formally welcome new entrants on their first day of the 2009-2010 academic year dubbed: My First Day At School. The day has been set aside for public officials to visit basic schools and interact with the pupils and motivate them to stay in school and learn to grow into responsible adults. Accompanied by Mrs Victoria Opoku, Metropolitan Director of Education, the MCE visited Twedaase Primary in Tema, Kpone Methodist Primary at Kpone and Bawaleshie Presby Primary at Bawaleshie near Dodowa. Mr Ofosuware and Mrs Opoku expressed satisfaction with the enrolment figures in the schools, and attributed the high enrolment to the School Feeding Programme and the Capitation Grant. The two officials who presented gifts to the children reminded them that they were the future leaders of the country and should therefore stay in school and take their studies seriously.
