Crack The Whip On Members Who Ignore Party Structures - NPP Executives Told

The Director of Elections for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah has told his party executives especially the Disciplinary Committee to begin to punish any member of the party who resort to court action as a means of resolving internal issues.

According to him, the constitution of the party has grievances and disciplinary procedures which permit every aggrieved member to petition the party executives to address issues internally.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Mr. Agyei Mensah Korsah could not understand the motive of some people in NPP to by-pass the executives at the constituency, regional and national levels to go to court.

His suggestions to the party executives is based on the fact that the NPP has not been able to finish all its primaries due to court actions carried out by some supposed aggrieved members who failed to addressed their issues at the party level.

We have grievances and disciplinary procedures in our constitution and it gives opportunity to party members to send petition on matters they are not comfortable with to be resolved in accordance with party structures,” he stated.

He however fumed that, “We will not fetch water into basket by entertaining people for their personal interest. I expect the party executives to crack the whip on these things because it is not proper to ignore the party structures at the constituency, regional and national levels.

He reminded the party members that courts cannot resolve internal issues of the party as it has not been successful for any court to finalize on any case of NPP before it; thus Manhyia and Kumawu cases could not be resolved in court.

He maintained that the final arbitration of every court case involving NPP internally cannot be solved in court; admonishing that “no member can hold the party to ransom on that way.”
