Rawlings donates fire extinguishers to Accra Arts Centre

Dr Zenator Rawlings, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Klottey Korley, has presented 11 fire extinguishers to the Arts Centre in Accra, to boost the preparedness of the facility against fire outbreak.

She noted that the Arts Centre, which is one of the oldest tourist sites in Accra, is not in the best of conditions to attract people to transact business, when basic things as fire extinguishers are not in place.

”The Arts Centre happens to be one of the oldest tourist site and the hub of artifacts, where people from all walks of life come but with the frequent outbreak of fire in the country, the Arts centre has a high risk.

“We should not wait until it takes us by surprise, I have therefore decided to provide these extinguishers so that the centre would be adequately prepared in case of any fire outbreak,’’ she emphasised.
Dr Rawlings outlined some of the development projects to kick start soon.

“Plans are in earnest to dredge the Korley Lagoon, which has become a receptacle for garbage and the training of people to take up watch dog roles to beef up security.”

She said there are plans to provide some social intervention programmes and continue to provide health support systems for the less privileged.

“ I am moving to the communities to offer any form of support I can which will put smiles on their faces as we have started, ‘’she said.
Alhaji Tanko Bitugu, Head of Production at the Centre who received the items on behalf of Management expressed gratitude for the support.

He said:’’ We are indeed excited about this. Doctor is a unifier, she has really shown her love by exhibiting what she stands for. Our structures and materials are secured.”
The Chairman of the Arts Centre Branch of the NDC, Mr Anthony Abraham Kwabena Brenya appealed to members of the party to vote for the parliamentary candidate.

“She is concerned about out problems. We will surely honour her. She has rescued us from drowning,’’ he said.
