More Women Urged To Take Up Positions - DCE

Mr. James Gunu, Akatsi North District Chief Executive (DCE), has called for more women participation in the management of communities and associations.

He said though women played very important roles in the day-to-day activities of communities at different levels, male chauvinism kept them away from vital positions.

Mr. Gunu, who was inaugurating a seven member Ave-Seva Youth Association comprising all males executive, said the time had come to break that culture that kept women on the periphery of affairs.

He said the situation in homes, where males are encouraged to excel and women kept down should stop.

Mr. Gunu commended the Ave-Seva youth for uniting to develop their community in consonance with government’s plans.

He said the Association’s efforts will also supplement the efforts of the Assembly, which remains on course to advance the development of the District.
