Italian Prime Minister Departs

The Prime Minister of Italy, Matteo Renzi, left Accra this afternoon after a two day official visit.

The visit was a follow up to President John Dramani Mahama’s visit to Italy in June last year.

During his visit, the Italian Prime Minister held bilateral talks with President Mahama, visited the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and addressed Ghana’s Parliament.

Prime Minister Renzi, as part of his pre-departure formalities at the Kotoka International Airport, inspected a Guard of Honour mounted by the Ghana Navy, which consisted of three officers and 96 men, under the command of Naval Lt Abraham Akwetey Teye, with the Ghana Navy Regimental Band in attendance.

The Italian Prime Minister was seen off at the airport by President Mahama, members of the diplomatic corps, and a number of state dignitaries.
