Abu Ramadan To Face EC Back In Court

Former PNC National Organiser, Abu Ramadan who has withdrawn his entire suit against the electoral commission over the voters' register will seek the court again for redress.

The PNC activist and one other want the Supreme Court to nullify the 2012 national voters' register and compel the Electoral Commission (EC) to compile a new register before this year’s polls.

They insisted that the current register contains ‘unwanted names’ which is inconsistent with the constitution.

Abu Ramadan’s lawyer, Nana Asante Bediako was granted a plea by the court to withdraw the writ and reply with the necessary amendments.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show 'Ghana Montie', Abu Ramadan explained that – “I am still pursuing the case. The judge just advised that we withdraw the case and reapply. My lawyer will do that this week.”

“We will face the EC back in court, the case is not yet over as speculated in the media. We need a new voters’ register,” he added.
