13 Selected For �Just Like You�

The much awaited audition for the �Just Like You� reality show finally confirmed the expectations of many and silenced critics when the overly exceptional performances of the contestants forced the judges to settle for 13 finalists instead of the projected 12. The audition had an exceedingly thrilled production crew who were unable to hold back a standing ovation.It was just like the referee of a football match, joining the celebration of a spectacular goal. The audition, which took place at the TV Africa studios last Saturday, saw the screening of 41 contestants, all men, imitating politicians such as former presidents J.J. Rawlings and John Agyekum Kufuor, President Barack Obama, Nana Akuffo Addo, Kofi Wayo; and social commentators like Kwasi Pratt Jnr. and Black Rasta. Musicians like Daddy Lumba, Paa Bobo, Kwaw Kese, comedians Koo Fori, Bishop Bob Okalla, Nkomode and even Holy men like Bishop Duncan Williams, Osofo Apreku and Pastor Chris were imitated. In this programme, contestants will be in full gear every week with tasks chosen from options provided by the artistic director, in which they are required to imitate personalities in every sense of the word. The programme was very well organized; with both F&B Entertainment and the TV Africa crew playing their respective roles effectively. The judges and presenter, who are celebrated icons in the movie and showbiz industry, called into action their wealth of experience resulting in the qualitative selection of the final 13.
