JBs Alleged Killer's Arrest: BNI Must Not Interfere - Atta Akyea

The Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta Akyea has suggested that the police must solely be allowed to investigate the death of his colleague MP, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu and arrest all involved.

Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu was stabbed to death at his residence in Shiashie, Accra where he lived with his family - Five persons including two women, and three men were arrested in connection with the murder of the MP for Abuakwa North.

But the suspected killer was arrested on Thursday when he went to Agbogbloshie in Accra to decode the phones of the late Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu.

Accra Regional Police command on February 11, confirmed the arrest of the prime ‘killer’ identified as Daniel Asiedu.

The suspect is believed to have confirmed killing the lawmaker – he is currently at the police national headquarters assisting in investigations.

However, some concerns have been raised that - the Bureau of National Investigations [BNI] must take over the investigation to fish out the perpetrators.

But Samuel Atta Akyea in an interview with Kwesi Aboagye on Neat FM voiced his objection to the idea – “I don’t know why the BNI must be involved in this. The police have the experience and are well trained to handle such cases. So they must do their work without any interference from the BNI. The BNI can only support the police but not to take over the investigation.”
