MPs Murder: Police Tight-lipped On Suspect's Images On Social Media

The Ghana Police Service has called on the media to be mindful of what they put on air as far as the murder of the late Member of Parliament, JB Danquah Adu is concerned.

According to a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Supt Cephas Arthur, this is to avoid jeopardising their investigations.

The statement further assured the bereaved family and the general public that the police service will get to the bottom of this issue.

Anyone who has any relevant pieces of information should rather volunteer them to the special investigation team set up at the CID Headquarters for the necessary action. Once again, the Police Administration wishes to encourage members of the public to go about their socio - Economic activities without any fear.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Yaw Kesse during Peacefm News@6pm, the Police mouthpiece was non-committal on whether images circulating on social media were that of the suspected killer arrested by the security agencies on Thursday.

"...Nana, i cannot say whether images trending on social media are that of the suspected killer...i do not have clearance to speak to that," a taciturn Cephas Arthur said.

Meanwhile, the security guard at the slain MP's residence is now being held as one of the key figures who possibly facilitated the killing of the MP, according to sources close to the investigations.

He (security guard) was one of the six individuals who were arrested after the Police started investigations into the killing.

Five out of the six have been released but the security guard is still in Police custody, assisting in investigations.
