Actor Kofi Siriboe Meets Oprah Winfrey

Media Mogul Oprah Winfrey had a lot of great things to say about Actor and Model Kofi Siriboe when the two met over the weekend at the table read of Ava Duvernay’s Queen Sugar TV Series.

Siriboe stars as Ralph Angel Bordelon, the youngest Bordelon sibling. Formerly incarcerated and somewhat worn out by life, Ralph Angel is trying to make a new start — and find a job — while raising his beloved 6-year-old son Blue with the help of family members, notably his aunt Violet.

He started acting at the age of six, along with his two brothers Kwame Boateng and Kwesi Boakye. Kofi recently had a major recurring role in the critically acclaimed MTV drama “Awkward” and appeared in the Oscar-nominated independent feature film “Whiplash.”

He guest starred in “CSI” and is also a lead star of the upcoming Independent film slated to hit the festival circuit this spring “Kicks.” Hollywood insiders call Siriboe a directors actor and is proving to be quite bankable. He also recently shot a television pilot with legendary “Boys In The Hood” director John Singleton for the show “Snowfall”.

“Queen Sugar” chronicles the lives and loves of the estranged Bordelon siblings in Saint Josephine, Louisiana: Charley, the savvy wife and manager of an NBA star; Nova, a world-wise journalist and activist; and Ralph Angel, a formerly incarcerated young father in search of redemption. After a family tragedy, the Bordelons must navigate the triumphs and struggles of their complicated lives in order to run an ailing sugarcane farm in the Deep South. “Queen Sugar” is produced for OWN by Warner Horizon Television.

The series is based on Natalie Baszile’s book. The executive producers are Oprah Winfrey and Ava DuVernay.
