Mr George Blankson, the Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), has appealed to the young staff of the Authority to show commitment and dedication to work to ensure development of the country.
Speaking at a Pull-Out ceremony and a farewell parade in honour of Assistant Commissioner (Preventive Sector Commander) Alhaji Mohammed Nasirudeen, Mr Blankson said the young workers must strive to show excellence in their performance.
Alhaji Nasirudeen had served the GRA for 34 years in various capacities across the country.
Mr Blankson said the rapid loss of experience hands at the GRA represented a great loss but also presented an opportunity for the young staff members to exhibit leadership qualities and excellence in the work.
He lauded Alhaji Nasirudeen for his selfless commitment to duty and leadership style that underpinned the many laurels in his 34-years of meritorious services at wherever he worked.
Mr Blankson urged Alhaji Nasirudeen to be ready to share his experiences when called upon adding that the vacuum created would be difficult to fill.
“For those of us still working with the Authority, we must look up to these geniuses who worked so hard and have blazed the trail for us to follow. If we have come this far, it is because of people like Alhaji Nasirudeen, who have worked to bring us this far,” he said.
In his address, Commissioner, Customs Division, Mr John Vianney, recounted some of Alhaji Nasirudeen’s remarkable achievements, and said his exploits were boundless and suggested how all must work to attain the highest values in professionalism, bringing to bear the training, skills and experiences to fulfill performance standards.
In response, Alhaji Nasirudeen expressed gratitude to God for seeing him through 34 years of service without blemish.
He urged the workers to work harder and help build a good image of the Authority through selfless and dedicated service.
