Director of Communications of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Nana Akomea, has given the topmost reason why Ghanaians should dump President John Dramani and his National Democratic Congress government for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP, at the November 7 Presidential polls.

Citing among the highest achievements of the twice defeated presidential candidate which according to him would compel Ghanaians to ignore the numerous infrastructure projects being undertaken by the John Mahama-led NDC administration, and vote for Nana Akufo-Addo, the NPP Director of Communications pointed to his flag bearer’s days at the UN Security Council.

According to Nana Akomea, when Nana Akufo-Addo was Foreign Affairs Minister under the John Kufuor administration; he chaired a high-level United Nations Security Council meeting in August 2006 that took the decision to halt Israel’s incursions into Lebanon.

In the opinion of Nana Akomea, the UN Security Council, being one of the highest organs of the UN, and the decision to elect Nana Akufo-Addo to chair its session without opposition from any permanent member on the Council, makes it a topmost achievement in the political life of the 2016 flag bearer of the biggest opposition party.

Far from saying that this singular achievement will obliterate all the achievements of the Mahama-led government, Nana Akomea maintained that the August 2006 UN Security Council meeting chaired by Akufo-Addo, when touted by the party, can secure him victory in the November 7 elections.

While imploring Ghanaians to vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo to lift the country from the doldrums, he said the former Abuakwa South legislator remains the best bet for the country.

Speaking on Asempa Fm last week, Nana Akomea said Nana Akufo-Addo’s track record as an astute lawyer and an incorruptible politician makes him the last man standing among all the candidates contesting the November 2016 elections including, President John Mahama.
He underscored the need for Ghanaians to look beyond their political preferences and give Akufo-Addo a chance in the impending election to prove his worth.

“Ghanaians have tried President Mahama and have seen that he has failed so they should try Akufo-Addo in 2016 for massive transformation in their lives” he added.

The NPP Director of Communications added that the bane of Ghana is leadership hence the need for a tried and tested leader like Nana Akufo-Addo, be given the nod.

Nana Akomea said Ghana’s problems will be solved with a determined leader like Nana Akufo-Addo, who is ready to sacrifice for the wellbeing of the citizenry.
