Accra Is The 166th Best City In The World To Live In, 12th In Africa
The largest city of Ghana, Accra has been named among the best cities in the world to live in � beating Moscow in Russia, Jilin in China, Vientiane in Laos, Kampala in Uganda and Cairo in Egypt.
Despite New York, Paris and London domination in the world of fashion, nightlife and entertainment �the Austrian capital of Vienna beat 229 other cities to take the title of the �Best City� to live in - in the 18th Mercer Quality of Life survey.
The top 10 cities are dominated by Europhttp://admin1.peacefmonline.com/admin/tgn/catnews/edit.php?contentid=270911&catid=1&siteid=1eans - Zurich and Geneva in Switzerland appear at numbers two and eight respectively, while the Danish capital of Copenhagen comes in ninth place.
However, three German cities were not missed in the top 10, with Munich, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt ranked at four, six and seven respectively.
Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa were the only African country cities in the top 100 and ranked 85th, 92nd and 95th respectively out of 31 African countries in the 230 cities which rated Baghdad in Iraq the worst city to live in.
Out of ten [10] cities in Ghana � Accra, which is the largest and capital city of is the only city ranked � and is placed 166th in the world and 12th in Africa.
Tunis in Tunisia ranked 113th, Rabat in Morocco is 116th, Casablanca in Morocco is 126th and Windhoek in Namibia ranked 131st.
The rest are Gaborone, Botswana 142nd,� Lusaka, Zambia 149th and Dakar, Senegal 162nd completes the top 10 best cities in Africa.
Access to healthcare, quality of education, social and economic conditions, housing and environmental factors are all taken into consideration for the rankings.
The survey is used by international corporations to assess how safe it is to send their employees to a given city.
