Family Dumps Body In Assailant�s Room

Residents of Abuesi, near Shama in the Western Region, last week Tuesday, were thrown into a state of fear when news broke out that the dead body of a 17-year-old girl has been deposited in the room of her alleged killer.

People from all over the area converged at the venue to catch a glimpse of the body, amidst tears and wailing, especially from family and friends of the deceased.

It took the intervention of the Shama Police to convey the body of the late Mary Eduasa to the Effia-Nkwanta mortuary.

Pieces of information picked up by the Chronicle from the area indicates that the 17-year-old school girl, now deceased, was reported to have been kicked in the groin at Abuesi near Shama by a young boy of the same age, whose name could not be established at the time of filing this report.

This was after a heated argument had ensued between the deceased and her alleged killer.

The information continued that the late Mary Edasa, who is a Class Six pupil, was watching television together with her alleged killer.

The deceased reportedly asked the suspect to reposition himself properly, so she could have a full view of the television programme, as he had blocked he view.

But the request by the deceased did not go down well with her alleged killer, which resulted in a misunderstanding between the two, leading to the trading of insults.

Consequently, the paper gathered from eye-witnesses that the alleged killer kicked the deceased in her groin.

The deceased, according to an eye-witness account, fell down unconscious and was subsequently rushed to the VRA Hospital at Aboadze, she was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Angered by circumstances leading to the untimely death of the deceased, her family members decided to retaliate by dumping her dead body in the room of the alleged killer.

The eye witness account said that the body was left in the room of the alleged killer throughout the night of Monday till dawn of Tuesday, when the police came to pick it to the mortuary.

The father of the deceased, Uncle Amadu, who confirmed the untimely death of his daughter, told newsmen that he police are still investigating the case.

He, however, pointed out that the whereabouts of the alleged killer are still unknown.
