Cars For State Attorneys

The Ministry of Justice and Attorney General on Friday took delivery of 26 Toyota corolla saloon cars at a cost of 976,989 Ghana Cedis from Toyota Ghana Limited (TGL) to be sold on high purchase arrangement to state attorneys. Payment for the vehicles, which cost GH 37, 576.50 cedis per unit, would be spread over an eight-year period. Mr Ebo Barton-Odro, Deputy Minister of Justice who received the keys to cars announced that the Ministry was also setting up a revolving fund to enable a lot more of its staff to purchase their own vehicles. He said it was the mission of the Attorney General and Minster of Justice to ensure that the Ministry became one of the best to enable it to deliver justice efficiently. He said though the task being put on the shoulders of the Department was arduous, the attrition rate of members of staff was also very high. Mr Barton-Odro also commended TGL for delivering the cars on time so that the beneficiaries could use them for the intended duties, and urged the company to grant concessionary terms to the Ministry so that they have more of such arrangements in future. Mr Masato Kimata, Managing Director of TGL, expressed the Company�s pleasure for being selected based on fair judgment to supply the cars to the Ministry. He said TGL had always aimed at presenting its customers with the best of driving quality cars, saying the Toyota Corolla 1.8 litre Sedan was among the best in its category with a low running cost.
