GFA Orders Avram Grant To Return To Ghana

The Ghana Football Association has ordered on-holiday Ghana coach Avram Grant to report to country and monitor the Premier League and also begin preparations for this month’s double 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Mozambique.

Grant has been away for more than two months and his recent engagement with UK based sports channel Sky Sports has left many Ghanaians fuming at the GFA.

There are suggestions, the Ghana FA has no control over the Israeli but spokesperson Ibrahim Saani Daara says they are in touch with the former Chelsea boss to return.

“Let me state as a matter of fact that the Ghana FA has asked him to come down because the league is underway,” he told Joy Sports

“We are also getting close to our match against Mozambique and therefore we need him here and in a very due course he will be here.

“We are very much in touch with him, we control what he does and we would want to state that if he does anything that is untoward we will call him to book.”

Ghana have qualified for five successive Cup of Nations.
