The Ghana Federation of the Physically Challenged have served notice that it would not tolerate attacks on one of its own - Mr. Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, the newly elected flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party [CPP].

Speaking in an interview, Mr. Frankline Jantuah, believed to be in his eighties [80s] and only surviving member of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s cabinet blasphemed that, the CPP cannot be led by a cripple.

“I don’t think a cripple can lead a political party.” “If you have a CPP with a leader who is a cripple….I wonder how he is going to rule,” Mr. Jantuah is quoted to have said in denigration of the CPP flagbearer.

Now, the Ghana Federation of Disability Organization (GFD), has also striped ‘old man’ Jantuah naked, describing him as someone, who is fast declining  and of no relevance, as far as the current democratic dispensation is concerned.

In a statement signed by its President, Mr. Yaw Ofori-Debrah, asking the general public to treat Mr. Jantuah’s bad remarks with derision, the group stated that, Jantuah’s comments are counter-productive to the respect of the laws in Ghana, and demanded that he (Jantuah) renders an unqualified apology to the disability fraternity, without delay.

“Ignore unreservedly the conservative politician and his retrogressive tendencies, which have no place, anymore, in modern world”; the statement further urged.

They (GFD), have however, thrown a challenge to Mr. Jantuah, to come and debate Mr. Greenstreet, if he thinks he is competent and has better ideas, than the CPP flagbearer.
