I AM Not A Card Bearing Member Of The NDC. - Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah

Christianity and politics don’t parallel – but some leading pastors in Ghana have been tagged with doing active politics – notable among them is the Apostle General of the Royalhouse Chapel International.

Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah over the years has been tagged as card bearing member of the incumbent National Democratic Congress [NDC] - but has ignored to clarify the allegation until recently.

In an interview with Accra-based Starr FM – the respected Man of God has denied strongly ever being a member of any political party including the NDC.

He explained that - he is a fairly balanced man of God who presides over a church constituted by persons from across the political divide.

According to him, the allegation that he is an NDC man stems from the fact that certain high ranking officials in the current government are his church members,

“Hon. Sherry Ayitey and Hon. Rita Odoiley Sowah MCE of La Dadekotopon are staunch church members and mass of NDC people who are into my church leadership as deacon. Also Mame Dokono, Naa Torshie among a host of others are regular visitors to my church. Nana Akufo Addo is visiting our church this Easter Sunday, so Royalhouse we are very well balanced and Sam Korankye Ankrah is well balanced,” he said.

Adding that – “Our country is very polarized and so a man of God cannot openly declare for a political party, if you did that you’ll create a lot of problems. So for now my counsel is that the church and men of God must remain neutral in politics. Men of God like chiefs must unite people, the acrimony and the divisiveness during elections is crazy in Ghana. We need people to bridge the gap and so we should not be found to be with one party”.
