"Its Too Early To Put Pressure On Coaches" - Coach Akonnor

Head Coach of Dreams FC, Charles Kwabena Akonnor has said it will be too early for coaches to be sacked since the league is only weeks old.

The former Black Stars coach however made a passionate appeal to clubs in the competition to be patient with their coaches as the league progresses.

Coach Akonnor was surprised just after two matches in the Ghana Premier League (GPL), some coaches have come under intense pressure to deliver with Coach Nurudeen Amadu resigning from Aduana Stars and Coach Joseph Emmanuel Sarpong of Ebusua Dwarfs FC is reported to be on his way out.

In an interview with the GNA Sports, Coach Akonnor said “I am a bit surprised about how coaches are being put under pressure from management and supporters to resign. I think coaches need to be supported by their management because it is early days yet".

Akonnor believes the success of his club was due to the open relationship between the playing body and the technical team as well as management.

Dreams FC will trek to Tema in match week three to meet Inter Allies at the Tema Stadium to continue with their smooth start to the GPL.
