Asiedu Nketia Is A Verbal BrawlerFights Dirty With His Words

Think-thank group IMANI centre for Policy and Education has described General Sectary of the ruling National Democratic (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketiah as a verbal brawler.

According to its Vice President, Kofi Bentil, the NDC Chief Scribe fights is someone who fights dirty with his words; a conduct he said leaves much to be desired of a General Secretary of a leading political party.

Addressing an NDC press conference Tuesday, the General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the NPP “had manufactured their own NGOs here who create reports” favourable to the narrative of the opposition party that the government was corrupt.

Asiedu Nketia said the NPP had adopted this strategy because internationally acclaimed think-tank, Transparency International has been scoring the NDC government ‘higher and higher’ marks in its fight against corruption.

“We are not surprised that they will be engaging in this type of thing” Asiedu Nketia said.

The NPP, he said found Transparency International report inappropriate fodder to feed the public about the so-called corruption by government.

The NDC has described organizations such as the CDD, IEA and IMANI as appendages of the opposition NPP.

However speaking on Joy FM Saturday, IMANI Vice President Mr. Kofi Bentil took strong exception to Asiedu Nketia’s assertion.

He described the NDC General Secretary who is seen as one of the party’s most effective communicators when it comes to responding to the NPP as someone who is not worth the attention of the IMANI which currently has been rated as the second most effective think-thank in sub Saharan Africa.

“We decided in IMANI not to waste precious time responding to the likes of Asiedu Nketia, we think he’s a verbal brawler…he fights dirty with his words. But there were also times when NDC people rose up against IMANI, they were insulting us all over the place and it was Asiedu Mketia who called them to book and said they should leave us alone as what we were doing was okay. So there are times he’s been here another time he’s there, in this particular case Asiedu Nketia put the bar at a very low level and I think we shouldn’t descend there with him”.

Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper had Kweku Baako had earlier described Asiedu Nketia as an “unmitigated communications disaster”.
