Man stabbed to death after parade

The Ho municipality was thrown into grief soon after the Independence Day celebration on Sunday, when a 19-year-old man who was returning from the regional parade at the Jubilee Park, met his untimely death.

Wisdom Amu Aforo, a coconut seller, was stabbed to death when he came across members of a gang fighting at a spot in front of the  Ho Sports Stadium, and attempted stopping them.

The incident took place about 100 metres away from his house.

According to an eye-witness account, some vendors at the scene tried to revive the young man by first aid as he groaned in a pool of blood, before hiring a taxi to convey him to the Ho Regional Hospital but he was  pronounced dead upon arrival.

So far, three people have been arrested by the police in connection with the murder.

Assistant Superintendent of Police and Ho Municipal Crime Officer, Mr. Apeatu Adabo-Frikyi, who confirmed the arrests, however, did not disclose the identities of the suspects.

He said “they are between the ages of 18 and 20”, adding that investigations was still ongoing.

The distraught mother of the deceased, Madam Diana Afua-Kuma Tse, other family members as well as neighbours described Aforo as an obedient and law abiding youngster who would never hurt anyone.
