A form two student of the Osino Junior High School (JHS) met her untimely death when a Metro Mass Transit (MMT) Bus in which they were travelling for an excursion to Lake Bosomtwe run over her.
The yet-to-be identified student was part of students from the Eastern Regional School who were on board the MMT Bus with registration number, GN 3218-12 and were on an excursion to the largest natural lake in Ghana.
A circuit supervisor who pleaded anonymity narrated to Adom News that the deceased was run over by the bus they had hired for the excursion when she attempted to jump out of the bus.
The deceased were among the many students on board the MMT Bus who started jumping out of the window of the bus after its brakes failed while descending an undulating road.
The students, the Circuit Supervisor said tried to escape due to the fear that the vehicle may head into the lake.
However, the deceased was unlucky when she fell directly under the bus after jumping.
This caused one of the tyres of the vehicle to run over her.
According to the Circuit Supervisor, the student died instantly and her body was conveyed by the Kuntanase Poliice from the resort.
