ISD Staff Angry; We Did Not Produce Error-ridden Brochure (VIDEO)

Workers of the Information Service Department (ISD) have denied producing any error-ridden brochures used for the country’s 59th Independence Day celebration last Sunday.

According to them, they do not understand why the Acting Director, Francis Kwarteng Arthur released a statement of apology for taking responsibility of the mess caused, and also using letter heads not belonging to their agency.

Workers of the ISD are reported to be in a conference now protesting against the issue since it has caused them much harm as individuals and a whole as an agency.

Some workers narrated their concern to JOY FM News.

“ . . . ISD was not involved in the printing; we know nothing about it therefore nobody in ISD should be held responsible for the mess caused. Whoever did the job must come out and apologize to the good people of Ghana because we cannot apologize for a wrong we have not done or know nothing about.”

Another worker noted that, “My view is that the apology is misplaced. I am saying this because if ISD did not print the brochures for the country’s 59th anniversary, on what basis are we apologizing. In fact there was nothing about the celebration that has anything to do with my office. We didn’t know how it was printed and who printed it. All we can say in a nutshell is that we are blind with regards to activities of the celebration.”

She added that, “we don’t as well understand why our Boss at the top level should issue an apology letter and accept responsibility on our behalf for an issue we know nothing about. For me I should think that he is playing his normal role as a Director of the Ministry, but he shouldn’t have taken the blame on behalf of ISD, unless whoever printed it is from a government source and for that matter he feels it is professional and appropriate for him to apologize.”

The angry group disclosed that the ISD is a professional body who for some years now have been printing brochures used for the independence day celebrations, so they would not have made such mistakes if they were given the go ahead to print them this time around.

Workers confirmed their office is still suffering from the energy crises whiles machines used are also not functioning.
