Do Not Give Credence To Insults - Dr Tetteh

Reverend Dr Lawrence Tetteh, the President and Founder of the Lawrence Tetteh Ministries (LTM), has strongly urged the media in this election year to try as much as possible not to give credence to insults.

He said the media was the fourth most powerful governing body of the nation and therefore, whatever was published by both the print and electronic media must be very well calculated.

He urged the media to be circumspect in their reportage and give credence to what was right; so that they do not destroy the nation but rather build the nation.

Dr Tetteh gave the caution at a press conference to herald the Wesleyan Revival Crusade by the Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church Ghana.

The crusade on the theme “Washed in the Blood of Jesus” is being organised by the Accra Diocese of the Methodist Church - Ghana in collaboration with the LTM, to pray for the country.

The five-day crusade, which starts from Wednesday, March 9 to Sunday, March 13, would be held at the Black Star Square in Accra.

Dr Tetteh congratulated the Methodist Church for the privilege given him to come and be the speaker for the programme alongside other seasoned men of God from the Church.

“We all, individually and collectively have a collective responsibility, and if we can come together in a massive united front, we can build Ghana,” he added.

He said the crusade was the part they were playing to bring about peace; bringing all the political parties under one umbrella.

Dr Tetteh said all political parties must realize that they cannot be president at the same time, and in the same view, they cannot be parliamentarians at the same time.

He urged Ghanaians to take cue from the number of conflicts which had engulfed the sub-region; pointing out that Ghana has emerged by grace, while urging all and sundry to continue to pray for the peace of the nation.

Right Rev. Samuel Kofi Osabutey, Accra Diocesan Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, said although the crusade aimed at winning souls, it also sought to transform lives and society in general.

He announced that Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, would grace the opening ceremony on Wednesday, March 9, while President John Dramani Mahama would be the guest of honour at the closing ceremony on Sunday, March 13.

He explained that the crusade would be from 1800 hours to 2200 hours each night at the Black Star Square, with seminars being held in the mornings at the Adabrakah Methodist Church, Ghana.
