Ghana @59: Brochure Errors "Unpardonable"- Presidential Staffer

James Agyenim Boateng of the Office of the Vice-President, has expressed disgust over the error-ridden brochure that was used for the 59th Independence anniversary on Sunday.

Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', James Agyenim Boateng noted that the errors which were committed during the ceremony are unpardonable.

According to him, there should be a thorough investigation into the cause of the problems that characterized the occasion for possible resolution.

To him, what occurred at the 59th independence anniversary should serve as a big lesson to the Planning Committee of the event.

He condemned the errors but however believed that those in charge of organizing the anniversary will not repeat their action next year when Ghana celebrates her 60th independence.

“We must investigate to establish the cause of this problem and learn our big lesson from it so that this mistake won’t repeat itself in the 60th anniversary when President Mahama goes to observe the occasion. We should investigate what happened and develop standard operating procedures from them. This (independence anniversary) is not the first time. We have been doing it. This is the 59th anniversary. So we have to learn lessons from what has happened,” he said.

James Agyenim Boateng was however optimistic that aside the mistakes that were rife in the brochure, the event was generally well organized and successful.
