Kintampo Accident Fallout: Ga Chiefs Try Wulomo For Sacrilege

The case in which Traders in Tomato accused a Wulomo of Accra has gathered momentum and excitement.

At the Ga Traditional Council office at Kaneshie, Accra, two representatives of the CMB branch in Accra officially moved to file charges against the traditional priest titled Korle Wulomo.

The allegation followed accusations by the trader group that they had been serially cursed by the priest, resulting in recurring accidents.

Two weeks ago, a public transport facility and tomato truck were involved in a gory accident in which almost 70 lives were lost, including passengers on the tomato truck.

The accident which involved a Tamale bound Metro Mass bus collided head on with a truck carrying boxes of tomatoes believed to be traveling from Navrongo.

The incident which occurred 8:00pm Wednesday night also saw several of the passengers trapped in the mangled bus as locals struggled to cut the vehicles to retrieve the dead and those alive. It is still unclear the number of people who survived the accident.

The session, however has postponed hearing to Saturdays (tomorrow).

Should the Wulomo be found guilty, he would be fired from the shrine. In the worst case scenario, traditional sanction is banishment for defiling his stool.
