Akufo-Addos Presidency Doesnt Lie In The Hands Of Suspended Executives - NPP Guru

A leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Kwadwo Anim has begged to differ on the position of many political pundits including members from his own party that the absence of the suspended chairman, Paul Afoko and others will affect Akufo-Addo’s chance of becoming the next President of Ghana in 2016.

He has argued that the chances of his Flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo forming the next government solely rely on the good people of Ghana who are discerning enough to see the failure of Mahama led NDC government and not on a suspended national chairman who is not at the forefront of the ‘fight’ to wrestle power from the incompetent NDC government.

His comment is based on the former spokesperson for former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Mr. Andrew Awuni cautioning the NPP never to dream of winning elections if issues in the party are not well addressed with an immediate effect.

Naturally until you put your house together, you cannot ask somebody to put his/her destiny into your hands,” he said in an interview with Okay FM.

According to him, leaders of the party should not delude themselves into thinking that the party can make it without the suspended members because they are very important personalities whose views and contributions would be very much needed as far as the party’s 7th November victory is concerned.

But in an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Mr. Anim insisted that though winning election is about numbers, it is also important for any serious political party ready to form the next government to first instill discipline in his own party to assure the public of its commitment to work with the law of the land.

He again argued that issues surrounding the suspended executives should not be blamed on the Flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo as if his position allows him to impose his will and decision over the rest of the party executives and the founding fathers who saw the need to suspend those executives.

He indicated that Akufo Addo’s position on the suspended executives was made clear when he [Nana Addo] at Sunyani Special delegates’ conference expressed his heartfelt worry over their suspensions.

Look, Ghanaians are discerning enough to see the happenings in the country under President Mahama and I don’t think they are ready and prepared to again give their mandate to the NDC after 8 years of being in government. The suspended NPP executives play no role is the final decision making on who becomes the next president of Ghana; Ghanaians are the final deciders,” he averred.
