As at the time the Ghanaian movie industry was going through a rough spectrum for almost over a decade, he sprung from nowhere to salvage the unbarring situation and today the industry is second to none. Alhaji Abdul Salam Mumuni is his name. Alhaji Mumuni CEO of Ghana`s prestigious film production house Venus has chalked lots of success when it comes to quality movies including raising a hosts of stars. The likes of Jackie Appiah, Van Vicker, Kalsoum Sinare, Eddie Nartey, Majid Michel, Nadia Buari, Dave Prince Osei, John Dumelo, Brenda Osei Fosu, Beverly Afaglo among others. Ghanaian movie lovers wouldn`t love this very news as things have gone sour between Alhaji and one his children Van Vicker to be precise. In an exclusive interview with Abdul Salam at his office, the ever outspoken Venus Boss laid out his sentiments about the issue to Anil, Flex reporter. �It all started when I called Van to feature in the movie Princess Bride. He raised his price tag to a level which was beyond my strength and I asked him to come down a little bit but Van declined and the deal fell apart� Salam hinted. According to the CEO of Venus, he had a substitute in John Mathew Sethor Dumelo who played the role to perfection. �Let me say this, Van Vicker can`t sell my movies and there are other guys who can execute my job better and to the fullest. The way I made Van to be on top of everybody in Nigeria currently, I will surely make another person without a doubt. If Van thinks he has reached his pinnacle and that he will turn his back on me, I wish him well in all his endeavors� Alhaji fumed. When Alhaji was pushed to the wall, as to whether he will be signing contracts with his artistes to avoid such confusions, he said �I have not thought about that yet but will surely take cognisance of that and in the near future to see what happens. Let me add this, I was the one who sent all these guys to Nigeria so I don't expect any of them to treat me in a negative manner. When I call Jackie, Nadia, Majid and the rest for a script, they run for it so I don't expect somebody like Van whom I used my documents to acquire him a visa to America to treat me this way�. Alhaji will you ever use Van Vicker in your up coming movies? �Why not, if he decides to come back. He is still a Venus boy and I hold no grudges whatsoever but one should always remember the truth� he revealed. The mercurial Abdul Salam has produced so many mind blowing and award winning movies some of which are Material Girl, Crime to Christ, Agony of the Christ, Princess Bride, the king is mine, Tears of Womanhood, Girls connection, Mummies Daughter, Dons in Sakawa and the latest collaboration with Heroes production the heart of men directed by Frank Rajah Araze.
