Report Unusual Circumstances To Law Enforcement Agencies - Public Told

The National Security Council has advised the public to be vigilant, cautious and curious, and report any unusual circumstances to the law enforcement agencies.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Communications in Accra on Wednesday, said the caution comes at the wake of the upsurge of terrorist attacks in the sub-region.

In view of this, the National Security Council has convened a meeting which was chaired by His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, to review the security situation in the country.

The meeting was also attended by Service Chiefs and all other members of the Council.

The statement said the National Security Council on the basis of briefings by the intelligence agencies and partners, has determined that there was a credible terrorists' threat to all countries in the sub-region.

The Council has therefore reviewed its anti-terrorism preparedness, joint services operations and other measures to ensure the safety of the citizenry.

It has therefore urged all Ghanaians and other Nationals resident in Ghana to bear with security measures that may be enforced at various locations from time to time for the purpose of public safety, and gave the assurance that it would review the situation on a continuous basis.
