NPP Must Rise Against Nana Addo's "Political Demagogue Posture"-Ahaji Dori

Even if the New Patriotic Party could boast of processing a better CV when it comes to democratic governance than other political parties, one person whose actions makes lightweight of their enviable credential is their current flagbearer, Nana Akufo Addo.

The above was an observation made by Alhaji Ibrahim Dori, a member of the National Democratic Congress.

In an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Alhaji Dori described Nana Akufo Addo as “a political leader who seeks support by appealing to popular desires and prejudices rather than by using rational argument”.

His reason for making the statement is borne out of what he claims has been a “chaotic leadership style” Nana Akufo Addo has brought into his party. According to him, large sects of members of the opposition party have made their leader a "thing god" and are worshipping him.

It is sad to note that of all the preaching and flamboyant self accreditation of NPP as the paragon of Democracy in the political limelight of Ghana, the party under the leadership of Nana has seen a chaotic leadership style largely because Nana Addo is being worshipped as a "thing god" by a large sect of members of the opposition party”.

To survive under his leadership one must succumb to Nana Addo's whims and caprices as an individual and not the party's interest’, he said.

He continued that several people including the party’s embattled NPP National Chairman Paul Afoko, General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong, Sammy Crabb, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamackloe, Dr. Arthur Kennedy, Dr. Richard Anane, and Mr. Mpiani have been severely vilified for having spoken their minds.

He charged the NPP to scout for and elect individuals who would always respect the laid down principles of the party.

The party is mightier than any individual and all in the party and members must strive hard to maintain the sanctity of the NPP".

For us in the NDC, no individual’s interest overrides that of our party and that style of running a political party must be emulated by the opposition NPP”, he advised.
