Farmer Uses Wee To Cure Rheumatism

A 39-year-old farmer, John Gagba, has been arrested by the Asesewa police for allegedly using Indian hemp (wee) to cure his rheumatism.

The suspect, currently in police custody assisting in investigation, was busted in his house at Anyamoni in the Upper Manya Krobo District of the Eastern Region on Wednesday.

Supt. Stephen Kofi Ahiatafu, Asesewa District Police Commander, told DAILY GUIDE that the police had a tip-off that the suspect had kept two big polythene bags filled with Indian hemp (wee) and so the police went for them and caused his arrest.

According to Supt. Ahiatafu, the suspect, upon interrogations, said that he is a rheumatic patient and had been using the wee to cure it.

“The suspect said he is suffering from rheumatism so he chews some of the substance and drinks water on top of it whenever the sickness shows up. He said he takes it to alleviate the pains,” the police chief underscored.

Supt. Stephen Kofi Ahiatafu however, indicated that his outfit would send the suspect to the law court for the necessary action.

He cautioned members of the public to desist from self-medication.
