Dodowa Shooting: Chiefs Wife Suspects He Was Killed Over Land Issues

Wife of the late Chief of Sota who was shot together with his son and one other person suspects her husband was killed over a land issue.

Rebecca Teye told Joy News that her husband, Nene Teiko Kpetutu, had been threatened by some family members and others for refusing to append his signature on some land documents they [family members] had sold.

Although Teye said her husband did not reveal the names of those threatening him, she strongly believes his death is related to some parcels of family lands.

Nene Kpetutu and two others were shot and killed by some unknown gunmen in a Toyota Corolla vehicle on the Afienya-Dodowa road in the Greater Accra region, early Sunday March 20.

According to his wife, the last time she saw her husband was on Sunday morning when he told her he was travelling to his hometown.

Eyewitnesses say the gunmen-two in number- used an unregistered motorbike for the operation.

They followed the vehicle, crossed it and ordered the chief who was then driving to stop. They shot and killed him and the others at Mango Tsonya near Dodowa and fled, eyewitnesses said.

“The family members who had issues with him have not had the courage to step foot here [late chief’s house],” the widow told Joy News.

Meanwhile, Police in Dodowa have started investigations into the incident.
