Man Arrested For Kidnapping

The Kotobabi Police have arrested a 28-year-old self-employed caterer, for allegedly kidnapping a 15-year-old boy. The suspect, Kwesi Aboagye a.k.a Wofa K, was alleged to have travelled with the boy to his village a week before he vanished. The victim, Eric Mawusi, a pupil of St. Francis Xavier Junior High School, was reported to have told his mother that the suspect wanted to travel with him to his village, but the mother refused. A week later, the boy was declared missing. Briefing Daily Guide, the mother of the victim Madam Lucy Ama Konyo, a caterer at the Golden Tulip Hotel, said on September 17 2009, around 6am, she woke up to find her son preparing for school as usual. I went to the bathroom to shower my little kid when I saw him ironing his uniform.Madam Konyo said after showering she called the victim to also have his bath, but there was no response. She claimed she went inside their room to check on her son. I checked everywhere but could not find my son. So it was later that my daughter told me that she overheard Kwesi Aboagye informing my son one night that their traveling would come on soon. Madam Ama Konyo said she later realized that her son had packed a few of his cloths before leaving the house, adding that the boy did not take any money with him. She disclosed that she believes the suspect knew the whereabouts of her son since the suspect intentionally left the area three days before her son went missing. Madam Ama Konyo then lodged a complaint with the Kotobabi Police and the man was apprehended. The Kotobabi Police confirmed the story to Daily Guide, revealing that the suspect is in police custody whilst investigations continue. According to the ASP John Coffie, the Crime Officer, on September 19 2009, Madam Konyo reported that her 15-year-old son had gone missing. The woman also reported that the victim told her that Kwesi Aboagye asked him to travel with him to their village to work, which the mother declined, so she suspects the man might have carried out his plan of kidnapping the boy. ASP Coffie said the suspect was invited to the station to help with the investigation.
