Npp Greater Accra Regional Branch Mourns Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey

The Greater Accra Regional Branch of the NPP received the news of the demise of our former Regional Chairman and National Chairman of the Great Elephant family –Mr.  Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey with uttermost shock. This sad event which occurred in the early hours of Palm Sunday, March 20, 2016 in London has left the region ruffled.

We have lost a dedicated patriot, dimensional thinker, selfless and dedicated stalwart of this Great tradition. As a founding member of the NPP, Jake as he was affectionately called, served in various capacities in the party; rose to the position of Greater Accra Regional Chairman and eventually became the National Chairman. He also served as Campaign Manager for the 2000 and 2004 elections and Chairman of the Campaign during the 2008 elections.

The Greater Accra Regional Executives together with the Regional Council of Elders have since called on the family of Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey to express our sympathies and pay our respects.

The regional party will be coordinating with the national party towards a successful organisation of the final funeral rights. In this regard the region has put all its officers and elders on stand-by to assist all party faithful and sympathisers who wish to take part in the funeral arrangement.

His name will indelibly remain in the memory of the region, party and the nation.

-Signed-

Hon. Ishmael Ashitey

(Regional Chairman)
