Mixed Feelings at Grab The Mic

The finale of the Grab The Mic Reality Show, held last Friday at The Aviation Social Center, did not end without some form of debate. Majority of the fans who thronged the venue to witness the event went home disagreeing with the judges choice after the marathon night, Judges A-Plus, Kwabena Kwabena and Jackie Ankrah, picked Gabriel Bamfo, otherwise called Oga B, as the winner. Raquel Ammah, the Greater Accra representative, was the first runner-up while Joseph Buabeng, who represented the Northern Region, was adjudged second runner-up. Some fans however had problems with the final verdict. A number of them protested openly saying, Aah Oga B is not the favourite. Patrons complained and pointed fingers at the judges for taking the audience for granted, and for wasting their time; having sat through the entire show only for the judges to select an undeserving contestant. Even though Oga B emerged the winner, his performance on Friday night did not demonstrate his skill. The two female contestants, Raquel and Shella, proved with their performance that they were aiming for the ultimate prize, which included a recording deal, a year endorsement deal with Star Beer and a cash prize of GH4000. They however lost to Oga B. Nevertheless, the entire show was exhilarating as there were some interesting guest performances from Sarkodie and Wutah.
