There will be a press launch of the Aboakyer Cup this Sunday April 3, 2016, at the Winneba United Conference Room, at the Winneba United Park, in Sankor, Winneba. The time for the event is 12noon.
The first Aboakyer cup match between Winneba United and Young Millionaires from Gomoa Lome will be played shortly after the press launch.
Meanwhile the Aboakyer Cup technical committee held balloting yesterday March 29, 2016, at Run-Off restaurant, the current sponsors of the Aboakyer Cup. Winneba United, the host team was ceded in group B alongside Young Millionaires from Gomoa lome, Items FC from Saltpong, Liverpool Nobles from Winneba.
In the other group A, Suncity FC from Accra, was ceded alongside Windy Professionals of Winneba, Spirrows FC from Awutu Senya, and Ahenfo FC from Apam.
At the Group stages, all group teams will play all. Matches shall be played Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays on Winneba United Park in Sankor, Winneba, beginning this weekend. The final match shall be played on Sunday May 8, 2016, at the Winneba United Park.
The winner of the Aboakyer Cup takes home GHC2,000 cash prize, the Aboakyer Cup trophy, and a number of other prizes.
